Extracurricular Activities
“Mens sana in corpore sano” is a Latin proverb that means “a healthy mind lives in a healthy body.” To cope with the rigorous curriculum and demanding workload at IBS, students must take care of their health and occasionally find avenues to unwind. With the objective of shaping students into healthy managers with all-round development, IBS offers a wide range of opportunities in sports and other extracurricular activities.
Much can be learned outside the classroom, and there are countless opportunities for interaction with fellow students. Every student leaves campus not only with a degree but also with friendships and bonds that last a lifetime. The student community at IBS is truly diverse, with students coming from different states, social and cultural backgrounds, and walks of life. By becoming part of this community, students gain unparalleled exposure to various cultures, languages, and ways of living.
Several student activities extend the classroom learning experience. These include organizing seminars on contemporary management issues, publishing in-house magazines, arranging guest lectures, and both organizing and participating in inter-business school competitions.
Academic clubs and committees provide a platform for students to integrate management into their daily lives. Industry leaders are frequently invited to deliver talks on contemporary issues. Clubs and committees also organize quizzes, debates, and discussions, meeting regularly to exchange ideas and perspectives on emerging issues and developments.
Students make full use of the well-equipped Sports Activities Center and the campus swimming pool. These facilities provide not only exercise and relaxation but also opportunities to compete and to learn teamwork.
IBS students have also excelled in national and international inter-business school competitions. Notably, two MBA students won second prize in the prestigious Baylor-USASBE Student Case Research Competition, organized by the Baylor University Entrepreneurship Program and the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in South Carolina, in January 2011.
Beyond academics, IBS students actively contribute to society through social service initiatives such as blood donation camps and environmental protection programs.
